March is Women’s History Month, and JCPenney is honoring women making change through our second annual Hope & Wonder Women’s History Month collection, this year benefitting Dress for Success® Worldwide.
Bringing the Collection to Life with the Creative Coalition
Hope & Wonder’s Women’s History Month Collection was created and curated in-house by JCPenney’s Creative Coalition, a cross-functional team of passionate designers who identify as Black, Indigenous and/or People of Color (BIPOC) who bring their authentic selves and distinctive voices to creating each Hope & Wonder collection. The Hope & Wonder Women’s History Month Collection includes pieces designed for multigenerational appeal inspired and made by the culture, for the culture.
“Being a member of the Creative Coalition means that I am able to provide an authentic voice to the development of product that lives within the framework of moments that have shaped who I am,” said Krystal, a JCPenney designer and member of the Creative Coalition. “Hope & Wonder is authentically designed by you, for you. We work tirelessly to ensure it is a positive reflection of the moment being celebrated.”
This year’s collection features designs that celebrate history-making women with slogans including “Women Make History Everyday,” “Future History Maker” and “She Inspires, Leads, Influences.” The collection is available in baby, kids and adult sizing for the whole family to celebrate.
JCPenney associates and their families are featured as models in the collection, which can be found in stores and online. This is JCPenney’s second annual Women’s History Month collection for Hope & Wonder.
Supporting Dress for Success® Worldwide
Net profits of the 2024 Hope & Wonder Women’s History Month Collection will benefit Dress for Success® Worldwide, the leading global organization empowering unemployed and underemployed women to achieve economic independence by providing no-fee programming, network and community to succeed in work and in life.
Dress for Success is a global nonprofit employment resource for women, providing services, tools and professional attire to help them secure employment and advance their careers. Since starting operations in 1997, Dress for Success has expanded to 139 cities in 22 countries and has helped more than 1.3 million women work towards self-sufficiency.
Dress for Success was chosen as the beneficiary of this Hope & Wonder collection in partnership with JCPenney’s women’s initiative networking group of success (WINGS), a business resource team that seeks to empower women of all ages, races, and backgrounds to become leaders in the company and their communities.
