Chris Phillips
SVP, GMM Apparel + Head of Ecommerce
Chris Phillips is senior vice president, general merchandise manager for the Men’s, Children’s, and Women’s Apparel divisions at JCPenney and also leads the ecommerce business, reporting to Michelle Wlazlo, executive vice president, chief merchandising and supply chain officer. Phillips joined JCPenney in 2021 and is responsible for leading the brand work and merchandising strategies for these divisions coupled with the full ownership of the customer experience at our flagship store on jcpenney.com.
Phillips is a proven retail leader and with deep experience in brand leadership, merchandising, and product creation while successfully driving the customer experience across multiple platforms including stores, digital, and omnichannel. Prior to JCPenney, Phillips served as the CEO of Mizzen + Main, a multi-channel menswear brand, in Dallas. He also held leadership positions and built strong product portfolios in multiple categories, loyalty programs, and e-commerce businesses with Stitch Fix, Banana Republic, Gap, Old Navy, and was president of Bootlegger, a Canadian specialty retail brand.
Phillips holds a Bachelor of Science degree in organizational behavior from the University of San Francisco.
